"I Do Believe in Fairies!"

Disney are once again adding to the list of Classic animation films being adapted into Live Action. Victoria Strouse, script writer for the upcoming Pixar film Finding Dory, is currently working on the script and Reese Witherspoon may play the starring role. Reese Witherspoon will also be producing the feature with Bruna Papandrea through their banner Pacific Standard.

Since 2008 Tinker Bell has become a key character for Disney with their Disney Fairies franchise which to date has seven animated movies starring Tinker Bell and her friends in Pixie Hollow. There are few details yet as to whether the Live Action will have any connection to these films or be a retelling of the Disney Classic Peter Pan, showing a new side to the story.

Disney
The Tinker Bell animated movies introduce Tinker Bell from her birth and discovery of who she is, set before she meets Peter Pan. The film series shows the character as a kind, curious and skilled fairy who helps her friends.

Perhaps the Live Action will explain what happened for Tinker Bell to become the jealous and quick-tempered fairy as seen in the animated Peter Pan.

Disney have once again collaborated with Vans for the new collection 'Young At Heart' which will be coming soon online and in stores. The range features classic Disney characters Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Winnie the Pooh and Donald Duck on a range of products.

"Sharing a rich heritage rooted in Southern California, Vans and Disney continue a decades long partnership to create new designs featuring Disney's original cast and friends."

"A magical adventure reimagining Disney characters."

Tsum Tsums have been taking over the UK! With Clintons stores original releases selling out entirely and Disney Store limited releases being sold out in minutes it is no surprise that these cute little creatures are quickly spilling into peoples homes. With the fun aim of being able to stack them anyway you can, people have been getting creative with storing their Tsums.

Laura from Disneyland Paris Where Dreams Are Made group has used Ikea plastic greenhouses. They are available as a set of three for £8 with the larger one being able to house over 20 Tsums and the smaller ones holding up to 9 each. This is a great way to keep them stacked and viewable from all angles.

Zoë on Disney Tsum Tsum Community UK found these cute square floating shelves at Poundstretcher. They also come as a set of 3 for £6.99 and in four colours options, white, black, blue or pink. This is great way to present them and incorporate them into your room designs.

Abigail on Disney Tsum Tsum - Buy, Trade, Sell has showcased her growing collection in hexagonal boxes from Tiger. Each box is £5 and has background colour options of pink, turquoise and yellow. Not only can the Tsums be stacked inside but the boxes can be stacked together too allowing for expanding collections.

Here at Disney Downtime we have found a wooden house from Tiger for £5. The box was originally plain but can be customised to any design. This one has been decorate by decoupage with Disney paper from Primark.

If you have any other great ideas for storing Tsums please share your comments and photos below.

Since the recent cinema release of Avengers: Age of Ultron we have chosen for this Soundtrack Sunday to look at the song I've Got No Strings. Originally this song featured in Disney's animated film Pinocchio (1940) sung by the little wooden boy on stage performing for Stromboli.

I've got no strings to hold me down
To make me fret, or make me frown
I had strings but now I'm free
There are no strings on me

Hi-ho the me-ri-o
That's the only way to be
I want the world to know
Nothing ever worries me

I've got no strings so I have fun
I'm not tied up to anyone
They've got strings but you can see
There are no strings on me

You have no strings
Your arms are free
To love me by the Zeider Zee
Ya, Ya, Ya If you would woo
I'd bust my strings for you

You've got no strings
Comme ci comme ca
Your savoir faire is ooh la la
I've got strings but entre nous
I'd cut my strings for you

Down where the Volga flows
There's a Russian rendezvous
Where me and Ivan go
But I'd rather go with you hey!

There are no strings on me

The song was recently remixed into a darker, ominous version for the Avengers: Age of Ultron character, used as Ultron's theme. The first verse of the song is quoted within the film by Ultron as he compares himself to Pinocchio.

The song was also covered by the Andrews Sisters and Glenn Miller. The Andrews Sisters worked for Walt Disney singing the narrations for Johnny Fedora and Alice Blue Bonnet in Make Mine Music and Little Toot in Melody Time.

Other versions of I've Got No Strings include a recording by Barbra Streisand for her 1965 album My Name Is Barbra.

This Sunday we are taking a look back at the theme song for Toy Story, You've Got A Friend In Me. This song originally began in 1995 written and performed by Randy Newman for the first Toy Story film. It has since featured in both film sequels and has been covered many times.

You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
When the road looks rough ahead
And you're miles and miles from your nice warm bed
You just remember what your old pal said
Boy you've got a friend in me
Yeah you've got a friend in me

You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
You got troubles and I got 'em too
There isn't anything I wouldn't do for you
We stick together, we can see it through
Cause you've got a friend in me

Some other folks might be a little bit smarter than I am
Bigger and stronger too
But none of them will ever love you the way I do
It's me and you boy

And as the years go by
Our friendship will never die
You're gonna see it's our destiny
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me

The Spanish version below was performed by the Gipsy Kings for the end of Toy Story 3 when Jessie the cowgirl and Buzz Lightyear dance together. Throughout the three films the song is also covered by Randy Newman and Lyle Lovett performing a duet, Robert Goulet as the character Wheezy, and Tom Hanks in Woody's Roundup.

An a cappella version of the song was recorded by Dick Van Dyke (Bert from Mary Poppins) and The Vantastix for their album Put on a Happy Face and performed at the 2011 D23 expo.

Some of the other versions of the song include performances by Brian Wilson for the album In the Key of Disney, George Jones and Kathy Mattea for The Best of Country Sing the Best of Disney, and Michael Buble for his album To Be Loved.
